Message From The General Manager

Rick Kerr | General Manager

It has been a rollercoaster ride with the economic turndown the last 18 months in the service sector industry of the oilpatch, but hopefully we're over the hump and consistancy will start to prevail again in as far as budgets and scheduling are concerned.

Rocky Mountain Valve has weathered the storm, so far, mostly due to the strengths of our personnel. Their diverse capabilities, safe work ethics and length of employment, along with some  belt tightening on the company's behalf, have helped us weather the storm, now hopefully the rain with stop and the sun will come out again.

2010 will be a growth avenue for Rocky Mountain Valve. Expansion is on the horizon, there will be opportunities for ladder climbing for some of our key people and advancement, including training, for the rest of our staff, and the additional recruitment that will be required to staff our facilities.

I cannot stress enough, that the only reason Rocky Mountain Valve can entertain expansion possibilities, is due to our people, and what they are now capable of achieving!!!

In my 35 years of involvement in the valve industry especially the quality / safety / ISO development, I have finally realized the definite / positive benefits of an overall effective quality management and safety program. It has reaped Rocky Mountain Valve financial savings, whether it be in WCB premium savings or streamlining our production capabilities, helping our client's ensure they are getting what they need, but most importantly, no lost time accidents or incidents over the last 5 plus years, so our people go home to their families every night.

A wise man and mentor once told me, "Don't ever forget how I, or you one day, got to where we are, it's because of our people." Guess What, as it turns out, he was right!!!

The  next decade at Rocky Mountain Valve is going to be quite challenging and exciting as our up and coming management is groomed to take over from the old guys like me. When they do, not if, will be my time to look back & reflect on what I have accomplished personally, "their success"

Thanks,

Rick Kerr
